Nutritional Prowess: Raw pet food often contains whole, unprocessed ingredients, providing pets with essential nutrients in their natural form.
-
Improved Coat and Skin: Advocates claim that a raw diet can contribute to healthier skin and a shinier coat in pets.
-
Dental Health: Chewing on raw bones may help improve dental health by reducing plaque and tartar buildup.
-
Fewer Additives: Raw diets typically have fewer additives, preservatives, and artificial ingredients, making them suitable for pets with sensitivities or allergies.
-
Energy and Weight Control: Some pet owners report that their animals on a raw diet have more energy and maintain a healthy weight.
Cons:
-
Bacterial Contamination: Raw meat carries the risk of bacterial contamination, such as Salmonella or E. coli, which can pose health risks to pets and their owners.
-
Balancing Challenges: Creating a nutritionally balanced raw diet can be challenging, as it requires careful consideration of various components to meet a pet's specific dietary needs.
-
Cost: Raw pet food can be more expensive than commercially prepared kibble or canned food.
-
Handling Concerns: Handling raw meat can be inconvenient and messy, and there is a risk of cross-contamination in the kitchen.
-
Veterinary Caution: Some veterinarians express concerns about the safety and long-term health effects of a raw diet, emphasizing the need for careful planning and monitoring.
Lastly, solutions for the Cons:
1. Bacterial Contamination:
-
We ONLY use high-quality human grade meats to reduce the risk of bacteria contamination
-
We freeze all of our meats at a temperature below 20 degrees Celsius.
2. Balancing Challenges:
-
We have a nutritionist who specializes in pet food.
-
Using commercial raw pet food formulas is more nutritious, but not considered natural. We strongly recommend adding vegetables, fruits, fish oils and mushrooms to meals for a well-balanced diet.
3.Cost:
-
Since we use high-quality, human-graded meats, our costs are high. However, we are working to lower prices for our clients. Therefore we launched two cost-effective products: Value Chicken & Value Chicken Beef
4. Handling Concerns:
-
Ensuring the safety of your beloved pet is of the utmost importance, and it all starts with practicing good hygiene when handling raw pet food. To eliminate the risk of contamination, it is imperative to wash hands before and after handling meats. Wearing single-use gloves is also a must to ensure maximum safety and cleanliness. Additionally, sanitizing all surfaces, including countertops, floors, containers, and fridges, with pet-friendly sanitizers, is crucial to avoid harmful bacteria growth. To further prevent cross-contamination, we use separate utensils for pet food preparation, separate fruits and vegetables, and different types of meat, including organs, cooked and raw.
5. Veterinary Caution:
-
Regular Veterinary Yearly Check-ups: Schedule regular veterinary check-ups to monitor your pet's health and discuss any concerns with a professional.
